No two days are ever the same in children's residential care. Your day may begin by checking in with the team, reviewing handovers and ensuring plans are in place to support the young people in your care.
Throughout the day, you'll support colleagues, liaise with social workers, families and other professionals, and help ensure the home runs smoothly. You might be celebrating a young person's achievement, supporting staff through a challenging situation or helping to plan activities and positive experiences.
Alongside leading and developing your team, you'll oversee care plans, maintain high standards, ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement across the home. While leadership is central to the role, you'll remain closely connected to the young people and the day-to-day life of the home.
