Mission Accomplished: Our Pupils Travel Back to 1940 at Eden Camp!

To reward our pupils for their phenomenal dedication to our recent History project, we traded the classroom for the frontline! Our young historians embarked on an epic, time-travelling adventure to the award-winning Eden Camp Modern History Museum. Stepping directly onto the grounds of an authentic World War II prisoner of war camp, the children didn’t just read about the past—they walked right through it.

From Classroom to Frontline: History in 4D

Our pupils completely threw themselves into the sights, sounds, and high-stakes atmosphere of wartime Britain. Exploring original museum huts, they discovered the grit,  resilience, and daily realities faced by soldiers, evacuees, and everyday families. A real example of expeditionary learning.

The kids were fully deployed into history, exploring:

• Air Raid Shelters: Experiencing the tension of the Blitz first-hand.

• Wartime Classrooms: Discovering what school was like under rationing.

• Military Hardware: Getting up close with massive combat vehicles and real battlefield relics.

The absolute highlight? The museum's gripping, immersive sensory displays. Surrounded by booming sound effects and atmospheric smoke simulations, our pupils gained a  profound, unforgettable insight into the home front.

Making Us Proud: Leadership and Teamwork

This trip wasn't just a fun day out; it was an imperative opportunity for character development.  Our pupils impressed the Eden Camp staff with their exceptional behaviour, sharp curiosity, and high-level questioning.

Throughout the day, they put our core school values into action by:
