Day & Residential Placements
Lufton College provides both day and residential placements for young people aged 16–25 with autism, moderate-to-severe learning disabilities, communication needs, and associated conditions, including ADHD, ADD, and Global Developmental Delay. All individuals have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) that reflects their learning needs and support requirements.
Placements are typically 2–4 years in duration, although this can vary depending on individual circumstances, progress, funding arrangements, personal preferences, and identified needs. The College offers both day and residential provision across multiple sites, with residential options including 52-week, 38-week, and weekly boarding.
All residential provision is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and education provision is inspected by Ofsted. At the most recent inspections, Lufton was rated Good by both Ofsted and the CQC.
A Personalised Programme
Education, care, and clinical teams work closely together to deliver a personalised, holistic programme that supports each students needs, aspirations, and intended outcomes. Lufton is committed to preparing young people for adulthood by developing the skills, confidence, and independence required for life beyond college.
The College aims to support young people to become as independent as possible, lead purposeful and fulfilling adult lives, and contribute meaningfully within their local communities. Lufton delivers high-quality, person-centred programmes and benefiting from a rich and purposeful curriculum.
Students live and learn in an inclusive, supportive environment, where staff focus on building on strengths and interests while supporting the development of new and meaningful skills. We are proud that our students are actively involved in shaping college life through the Student Council, and that the Moving-On curriculum supports them in planning and developing their lives after college.
