Empowerment, Independence & Personal Development

The young adults who live in Stratford Lodge are central to all that we do, the care is person centred and the voice of the individual, however that may be communicated, is key in the care that is received. Empowerment, independence and personal development are all key factors in how we measure success at Stratford Lodge.

Stratford Lodge has an experienced care team that has proven to be effective and successful over the past 20 years in supporting meaningful outcomes for young adults with a wide range of abilities. We are aspirational for all individuals in our care and through kindness, innovation and a solution focused approach endeavour to support each young adult to achieve their own personal best.

Dear Rebecca, I am writing to provide feedback regarding Stratford Lodge, where P is currently living, and in particular to comment on JH and the staff team. From my observations, Stratford Lodge provides a calm, professional, and caring environment for P. Whenever I have visited, I have found the atmosphere settled and supportive, and it is clear that the staff work hard to ensure P feels safe and well cared for. I have had the opportunity to observe how staff support P, including how they respond when she is feeling dysregulated. I have been impressed by the way staff manage these situations, and by the consistency and care shown in their approach. Staff appear to know P well and support her in a thoughtful and appropriate way. I would also like to highlight JH’s work as registered manager. I have had multiple conversations with JH and have found them to be an excellent manager whose practice is of a high standard. He has shared useful and important information about P both verbally and through written reports, which has helped maintain clear communication. JH has also been very good at keeping me informed about any incidents and explaining how incidents and P’s behaviour are recorded in order to better understand and support her. In addition, I have noticed the positive way staff engage P in activities and in day-to-day support. On all the occasions I have visited, P has appeared very happy and settled in the placement, which reflects positively on the care and support being provided. Overall, my view is that JH and the staff team at Stratford Lodge are doing a very good job in caring for P. Their approach appears professional, caring and well organised, and I feel reassured by the quality of support being provided. Kind regards

I saw first hand on a parent visit how assured and appreciative parents were, that they would be leaving their young person in safe hands, it was really beautiful to witness – Josh you have a very calm and receptive manner that shines determination to get everything right at Stratford Lodge.

I have so much to thank the Cambian group for and it would be anyone's dream to have their precious child looked after by them. For me it’s also about the people they so carefully employ. You’re all so professional and know exactly what J needs (undoubtedly with a wealth of experience) and this is why our young people thrive in your care. I shall forever be indebted to each and every one of you and I am already resting so much easier.

Home Enviroment

There's no place like home, and whilst we recognise Stratford Lodge may not be able to replace the family home for our young adults it makes every effort to provide the comfort, warmth and care that a family home provides so that our young adults feel safe and nurtured in their environment.

Stratford Lodge is a large Edwardian house located in a residential area. It features in a quiet lane overlooking Victoria Park in Salisbury. It is in walking distance of Salisbury city centre and is easily accessible to all the local leisure facilities, opportunities and community links that our young adults will need to develop that sense of belonging they require.

Choice and personalisation is encouraged in communal spaces and bedrooms to support the young adults to enjoy their environment.

Stratford Lodge provides a homely environment for up to 8 young adults, specifically designed to meet the needs of the individuals in our care, for whom a shared living experience can be a challenge.

Parent Feedback

Parent feedback is incredibly important to us. The experiences and reflections shared by families help us celebrate what we are doing well and continue improving the support we provide.
