High‑Quality Learning Opportunities for Every Child

We are dedicated to helping every child and young person achieve their personal best. Our aim is to make sure all pupils enjoy the same learning and social opportunities as their peers. We do this by offering highquality facilities and a creative, carefully tailored curriculum that supports each learner’s individual needs.

With a passionate staff team, a thoughtful approach, and purposebuilt spaces, we create a welcoming, safe and happy environment where every child can thrive and make progress, whatever their starting point.

Pupils’ specific special educational needs and/or disabilities are identified well by the school. Staff take time to assess how pupils learn best. They have a strong understanding of pupils’ needs, personalities, likes and dislikes.

Feedback about Brook View School

Read the lovely feedback we have received from parents, social workers and more below:

The learner has transitioned back to school with remarkable ease and confidence. Since the very first day back, he has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic and a positive attitude toward his learning. He has been working diligently across all tasks and assignments, showing a level of focus and perseverance that marks significant improvement. This is especially noteworthy as completing schoolwork was previously an area of difficulty for him. His increased engagement and willingness to apply himself reflect meaningful progress and a growing sense of responsibility toward his learning.

Teacher

Before joining Brook View, my son had a poor experience of school life and had missed almost 3 years of education due to unmet needs. I had heard of Brook View, especially the fantastic new head and went to have a look around. From this point, Brook View was where we wanted him to go! Due to his past experiences and having so long out of education we were all prepared for a rocky start and suitable arrangements were made. My son, however, loved it so much that there wasn’t one day where he didn’t want to attend, in fact by week 3 he was having that much fun he didn’t want to come home! Each individual staff member is child focused and they all bring different experiences to benefit the children. There is so much outdoor space which is utilised well daily, a cooking room and different sensory rooms, I can understand why he is so happy there! Brook View has been life changing, not just to my son but to us as a family. I will be forever grateful that they believed in him and gave him a chance and I can now see a positive future ahead for him! Thank you

The staff are very professional and so child-focussed, I can’t fault them. The improvement [the student] has made in just a week is phenomenal and down to the knowledge and professionalism of the staff. It’s an amazing placement. Brook View is a beautiful place and I’m so pleased that he has got his own bathroom. Having the school on site is perfect. He went to a lesson yesterday, which was amazing considering he has had no meaningful education since primary school. It’s incredible how much progress he has made in such a short time.

Social Worker, The Independent Person's Report

The Head Teacher has been really helpful. She really gets things done. If she says she’s going to do something she does it. She’s done everything she has said she would do. It’s important that I can trust people when I leave my son at the end of the day and that I know he’s well looked after. The home is really nice. [My son] can’t have carpets on the floor but the floor in his bedroom is really nice. I see [him] every other day at the home and then on zoom every other day. He is safe there.

Parent, The Independent Person's Report

I have had a young person placed at Brook View yesterday, following a successful 2 week transition plan from hospital that the placement had co-ordinated. They put a lot of thought and consideration into the young persons needs, ensuring the transition was in his best interest and successful; it could not have gone better! I have only positives comments regarding the placement, from the moment contact was made for an assessment Brook View worked professionally with myself and the multi-agency team. They ensured the matching process for the children was completed, and gathered all the relevant information. It was and is clear that the staff are highly knowledgeable and skilled in the specific needs of the children they work with and I am really pleased with the placement so far! They definitely have the children's best interests at heart and want to achieve positive outcomes. I hope I don't have another young person in such a complex situation again, but I would definitely recommend a Brook View placement again if needed

Social Worker

I wanted to take a moment to express how much I have absolutely loved my short time at the school working with the young people. It has been a pleasure getting to know each student individually, learning how I can help bring PE and sport into their school lives in a meaningful way. The staff have been amazing, so supportive of the students and equally supportive of me. Whenever I set small tasks or activities, the staff are always willing to get involved and consistently encourage the young people, which makes such a positive difference. The progress each student has made looks different for everyone, but in every session we move forward in some way, whether through communication, engagement in activities, understanding, or building relationships. I leave each day feeling genuinely happy and grateful to be part of their journey so far. Thank you for allowing me to be part of the school community during this short time. I would love to continue supporting the students’ physical learning and development in any way I can. So, I would be happy to continue in the new year for spring term.
