Before completing a PGCE in Technology and Engineering with QTS, James gained a BSc in Industrial Design and Technology from Loughborough University. While teaching full-time at his first school, James continued his studies, completing an MA in Education at Derby University and took on the role of lead practitioner for the specialist school and academies trust advising on Technology and STEM curriculums. James has since held a number of leadership roles including head of faculty, assistant head for teaching and learning, curriculum and timetabling as well as pastoral standards, DSL and SEND provision. James completed his NPQH while in the role of Deputy Head Teacher and now takes on the Headteacher position at Potterspury Lodge School.

James is dedicated to ensuring children and young people realise their full potential and have the relevant skills, knowledge and qualifications to access the next stages of their education, training or employment.

His special professional interests are raising educational standards and teacher professional development.

I have 22 years’ experience working in Specialist Education and have held positions at Teacher, Headteacher, Regional and Managing Director Level.

I care deeply about outcomes for those we are responsible for educating and am privileged to work with a portfolio of schools and colleges, including Potterspury Lodge School, where colleagues demonstrate a passion and commitment to supporting some of the most vulnerable students in the country to have extraordinary days every day.
