Beverley School

Suzanne has worked in a range of settings, both in the UK and overseas. She has held leadership roles for many years and enjoys developing colleagues, as well as students. As a languages specialist she always encourages students to develop their global awareness and she is a keen traveller. Suzanne is passionate about holistic education and is keen to adapt learning to each individual student.

Toni has worked at the Beverley School for six years and is our specialist for Science and Mathematics. As Deputy Head she is responsible for all academic areas of school life. She has a great sense of humour and the students enjoy the learning experience she provides. Students love carrying out practical work with her and she inspires them a great deal.

Gary worked as a chef before moving into education. He firmly believes that learning should be fun and exciting and encourages pupils to relate their learning to the world around them. He enjoys teaching PHSE, Humanities and Design Technology and the students love cooking with him.

Paige has worked in a range of settings with young people including residential care, youth work and youth offending. She has recently obtained a First-Class BA (honours) degree in Youth Justice studies. Paige is keen to encourage students to develop a sense of self and for young people to realise their true potential, which in turn has positive implications for their education and life chances.

Chris has a lot of teaching experience in both post sixteen and secondary education - teaching sport, PE and Humanities. Chris firmly believes on providing a challenging and exciting education for young people, meeting the needs of his learners and ensuring that his curriculum area provides opportunities for all. Chris is also responsible for coordinating off site extra-curricular activities in order to maximise the learner experience.

Olivia has worked with us since September 2022. Prior to this, she taught in primary education for five years. She specialises in Phonics and Reading and has a strong knowledge of the approaches needed to develop a child and young person’s reading ability. She teaches Maths and English in Y10 and is our English lead for the school.

Karen has worked at the school since 2017 and comes with a range of experience from the Police Force and The Armed Forces. She has lived in various interesting places and enjoys sharing some of her life experiences with the students. Karen owns a boat and a caravan and makes the most of her opportunities at the weekend.

Kim is the longest serving member of staff, having worked with Cambian for over twenty years. She enjoys the variety which her role brings and is really thorough when it comes to anything health and safety. The students enjoy working with Kim and she enjoys seeing them thrive, especially when they are taking part in fun off-site activities.

Faye is from Beverley and has much knowledge of the local area and all the opportunities on offer. She is a graduate from the university of Hull and is keen to put her knowledge into practice so that each and every student can be supported with their needs and aspirations.

Rebecca is from Hull and enjoys working with our young people. She is a very creative person and leads on our Awareness Days and Community Links, always looking for ways to inspire and support students with their development. Becky loves animals and strongly believes that they can help with our mental health. As a result, she has been one of our key staff in building links with off site provisions so that students can gain work experience, qualifications and have time with animals. We are grateful for Becky’s work in this are and the benefit this brings.

Daniel has had different experiences during his professional life due to a range of settings – from primary to specialist provisions. He attended university in Leeds and then York and is particularly interested in Educational Psychology. In school he delivers English and Mathematics and enjoys using his skills to ensure we adapt for each and every student. In his free he enjoys being a recent father, he spends much time in France, and he enjoys following darts, formula and athletics.

Melissa is a newly qualified teacher and joined us in 2025. She has many interests and experiences and she teachers English and Mathematics to our students and supports them in a range of lessons. Melissa loves the outdoors and animals, and she accompanies the students to a range of off-site provisions. Melissa helped us secure an allotment recently and she is excited about taking the students to develop their Life Skills and make the most of this facility from a therapeutic point of view.

Chelsey comes from Hull and was educated locally. She is fun to be around and enjoys seeing the students develop positive relationships and improved behaviour. Chelsey contributes to a range of subjects and is great when it comes to organising off site experiences and risk assessments. When not at work she enjoys eating out, going abroad and shopping.

Luke has worked with us since 2024 and he comes from a town nearby, on the coast. He is very passionate about SEN education and is keen to share some of his own experiences with students. Luke contributes to many lessons, our SEMH provision and sport and he is a talented footballer.

When not working he loves going to the gym, playing football and supporting mental health charities.

Victoria joined us in 2025 and has made a big impact since she joined us. She is very interested in Science and Special Needs, and she is always studying something – current project is a GCSE in Sign Language. Victoria originally comes from Ghana, and we benefit from her sharing her own personal experiences. In her free time, she enjoys learning, travelling and she is aiming to improve her culinary skills.

Brandon is new staff member and is local to the town and community. He wanted to work with us because he has a real interest in working with students who need additional support. He delivers ICT in school and has built up positive relationships with students. When he is not at work he enjoys socialising, gaming and dog walking!
