Sam holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, as well as various qualifications in the Arts. She has over 30 years’ experience of working in schools, spending over 19 of these in leadership roles, and has been strategically involved in planning for and opening Alternative Provision across South and West Yorkshire. Sam holds the National Professional Qualification for Headship as well as the National Professional Qualification for Executive Leadership and enjoys the opportunities and challenges that school leadership brings.

Sam has worked in the special education sector since 2000 and has relished Headship and Executive Headship roles. Having led specialist provision to consecutive Outstanding Ofsted judgements, Sam has also worked as a private SEND consultant and enjoyed working closely with providers across the country to develop their specialist provision. She is passionate about working with children and young people with additional needs and strives to make a positive difference. Sam’s motto is, “If a job’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well!”, and she expects no less of her staff team. Sam’s vision for Cambian Spring Hill School focuses around #SpringHill SPIRIT and #SpringHillPRIDE. A fundamental part of her leadership style is to unlock individual potential and support everyone to be the best version of themselves.

When she is not working, Sam enjoys the great outdoors with her dogs or pottering around in her garden. Sam also loves to indoor row which keeps her fit and agile!

Caroline holds a Batchelor’s Degree in English and History and specialises in Secondary English. She has taught English from KS3 to A level for over 19 years. In addition, Caroline has over 6 years’ experience of being in senior-leadership roles within main-stream and independent schools, implementing strategy and change, which enables students to thrive under her guidance and care. Caroline has gained the National Professional Qualification for Headship and is the regional SEND governor for a Yorkshire trust. She is passionate about supporting young people with SEND to reach their full potential and ensure barriers are overcome, particularly in relation to Literacy. Caroline is also Spring Hill School’s English Lead and teaches GCSE English Language and Step Up to English.

When not in school, Caroline enjoys time riding her horse, working out at the gym and spending time with family.

Carlie holds a DipHE in Psychology, alongside a range of qualifications in health and social care, childcare, counselling and safeguarding. She has worked across a wide variety of education and residential care settings, giving her extensive experience supporting children and their families. Over the years, she has built a strong track record of working collaboratively with multi agency professionals to promote positive outcomes for young people.

Carlie has been part of the special education sector for several years and currently leads on safeguarding, admissions and transitions at Spring Hill School. She works closely families and professionals to ensure each young person has a smooth, well planned and positive journey through the provision.

She thrives on building strong relationships, identifying barriers and problem solving to help young people feel safe, settled and ready to progress. Passionate about making a positive difference, Carlie is committed to ensuring every young person is supported to reach their potential. She enjoys developing systems, improving processes and contributing to safe, positive environments where young people feel valued, understood and able to truly thrive.

Outside of work, Carlie enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and taking on creative projects at home…She also really likes cats.

Emma is qualified up to post graduate level in Physical Education and has completed her post graduate National Award in Special Educational Needs Co-ordination (NASENCo). Recently, Emma attained the national Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership (NPQSL) adding to her portfolio of expertise. Emma started teaching 20 years ago within mainstream education. Her career has consisted of many leadership roles including programme leader and vocational lead. She has worked in special needs education for over 8 years as lead teacher for PSHCE, PE Co-ordinator and now SENCo. As a member of SLT, Emma works closely with the Principal, Vice Principal and DSL, utilising her dynamic leadership skills to provide operational oversight and develop provision at Spring Hill. Emma’s dedication and commitment ensures that all children within the school receive the support they need, whilst mentoring and supporting teachers and Learning Support Assistants.
